About this blog
Think back. Imagine a day when generations passed down traditions, knowledge and wisdom through stories, paintings and writings. Then, as communication technologies evolved, information was shared through more progressive mediums like party line telephones (drama alert!), or maybe families – who used to live close together – talked over dinner or as they gathered around the radio or TV with anticipation of the day’s news.
Now generations are spread out, using new and different communication channels and living busy lives. It’s rare that we take time to listen to the stories and experiences of our parents’ and grandparents’ generation.
In the middle of life’s ups and downs, we need each other. We need the stability and wisdom of those who’ve gone before us (and made it through) to teach us what they’ve learned and to affirm that everything is going to be OK. Likewise, we need the energy and passion of the next generation to keep us optimistic and excited for the future.
This blog provides a channel for people of all ages to learn about one another, and to grow together- at work, at home, in the community, and in our relationships. It’s about the intentional passing along of important life lessons, traditions, knowledge, wisdom and ideas… so we can get better and stronger with each new generation.
To emerging generations: There’s a lot we can learn from those who’ve gone before us. Let’s listen well, infuse our perspectives and make our world better for future generations.
To established generations: Thanks for the solid foundation you’ve laid. I hope this blog honors you and provides a channel to further your legacy… and maybe even learn a thing or two!
